I need Mentor

At 22:15 ET today(Dec 15 2022), I was going through Paul Randal’ wait types library and I stumbled upon the blog of him offering mentoring help in 2023. Considering this as a sign during holiday season I have decided to open my old blogging account and submit my entry by writing short post on why do I need mentor. 

I have been DBA/Database Engineer through out my last 14 years of career in IT industry. I enjoy working with databases. However, I am at the stage of career where I need some guidance on how to drive my career forward when cloud, AI/machine learning are buzzword in industry. Also I’m looking forward for help in blogging. I take my own notes but never publish them because I think they lack quality as compared to fellow bloggers in the SQL community and with thought that a lot of content is already published about the topic. I feel like my skills are fragmented and need help in reorganizing them. 

I’ll come to know after a week whether I’m eligible to become Paul’s mentee or not but I’m thankful to him for making me publish couple of paragraphs after a long time. Thanks.
